This setup drastically reduces "back-flash" (where the laser reflects off a solid table and burns the back of your wood) and ensures that smoke is pulled away from the cut line immediately. The result is a significantly cleaner edge with minimal charring or yellowing. The kit also includes a solid aluminum base plate to ensure your actual desk or workbench remains completely safe from laser burn-through.
